Purity
Akzo Nobel Base Chemicals produces Demeon D or dimethyl ether in one, pure grade. Especially the low maximum methanol contents shows the production process is capable of producing this pure grade.

The maximum C1/C4 (alkanes and CO2) contents is 50 mg/kg (a), maximum Methanol contents is 1 mg/kg (b) and the maximum Water contents is 50 mg/kg (c). The total of a + b + c is maximum 100 mg/kg, creating a minimum 99.99 wt% DME grade.

Density
Note the density of Demeon D varies versus the temperature. The volume expansion of dimethyl ether from 20 degrees Celcius to 50 degrees Celcius is over 9 percent.
